In December of 2013, the Local Economies Project of the New World Foundation (LEP) facilitated the purchase of Gill Farms in Hurley, New York with a far-reaching vision: to create a regional center dedicated to resilient agriculture and to building a vibrant food system for the Hudson Valley. This new center, the Hudson Valley Farm Hub, has been established to serve as a resource for education, demonstration, and research on 1,255 acres of fertile land that has an agricultural history reaching back over hundreds of years.
