R&R Produce grows diversified vegetables on 20 acres of some of the most fertile “black dirt” soil in all of New York state. Our main crops are curly kale, serrano peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, beets, carrots, onions, and squash. We sell our products through local farmers markets and to restaurants in NYC, which is about 1.5 hours away.

We decided to start the business after many years working as farm workers on other farms. We used to cut lettuce and plant onions for 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week for minimum wage. We wanted to start a family and knew that we weren’t earning enough money to do that. So in 2007 we made a decision to leave our lives as farm workers and start our own business. We named the business after my son, Rogelio Jr., who we hope will take it over someday.
