Radicle Farm was started in January 2014 by three 20-somethings, Christopher Washington, James Livengood and Tony Gibbons, working out of a small hydroponic greenhouse in Newark, New Jersey. By March 2015, they had moved into a 60,000-square-foot greenhouse in Utica, NY. Using a modified hydroponic system, Radicle grows pesticide-free unique salad mixes that include red and green romaine lettuces as well as super-healthy greens such as tatsoi, chard, spinach and mizuna.
Their growing process is a closed loop system, which in addition to reducing nutrient loss, uses only 10% of the water required for typical field production and eliminates potential runoff into the surrounding ecosystem. Radicle produce is GAP-certified.
