A Field Goods Morning Produce Run

Follow Donna Williams, founder of Field Goods (field-goods.com), as she visits five family-owned farms in New York's Columbia and Greene Counties to pick up produce for Field Goods customers. Field Goods, based in Athens, NY, is start-up a local food delivery service that offers subscriptions to weekly produce deliveries. The farms visited are Rexcroft Farm, a 300+ year old, 200-acre livestock and produce farm in Athens, NY owned by the King Family for generations; Fog & Thistle Farm, a 6-year old, 4 acre vegetable farm in Germantown, NY run by a young couple, Fix Brothers Farm, a 100 year old, 100+ acre tree fruit farm in Hudson, NY established in 1899 by John Henry Fix; Markristo Farm a 40-acre certified organic farm in Hillsdale, NY owned by the Martin and Christa Stosiek for 24 years; and Stoneledge Farm, a 200 acre certified organic farm in Cairo, NY owned by the Kavakos Family. The video illustrates how dramatically small farms differ in the Hudson Valley region and highlights how the Hurricane Irene disaster impacted some of these farms.
