About: What is Sorrel other than a brand of very expensive boots and the color of a horse, you say? Answer: Sorrel is a perennial herb with an acidic lemony taste, often used in salads and as a seasoning in soups.

Nutrition: Sorrel is a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Thiamin and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium and Manganese.

Storage: Refrigerate in a plastic bag and do not wash until ready to use. Sorrel will last about two days in the fridge. 

Tips: Sorrel is both a salad green and an herb. Treat it as both! Tastes great with salmon and other fish. 

QuickFix: Use Sorrel as a pesto. Simply puree it with olive oil and garlic.
